INTERFERON ALFA-2B

Interferon alfa-2b is the active ingredient in this preparation. It can cause or worsen problems such as diabetes, autoimmune hepatitis (the immune system attacks the liver), hypothyroidism, or hyperthyroidism. Patients should be closely monitored for signs of depression or changes in mood, and healthcare providers should be notified immediately if any such symptoms occur. Blood counts should be monitored regularly during treatment. Patients with a history of autoimmune disorders or heart problems should be closely monitored during treatment.

Interferon alfa-2b requires careful attention to associated warnings and precautions. Patients should be monitored for signs of allergic reaction, including rash, itching, or swelling, and should seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms occur. The medication increases the risk of infection, so patients should avoid close contact with infected persons. Patients with diabetes require close monitoring during treatment.
