TRIMOXAZOLE
Background and Date of Approval
Trimoxazole is an antibiotic medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of bacterial infections.
Uses
Trimoxazole acts by inhibiting the synthesis of folic acid, an essential nutrient that bacteria need for the production of nucleic acids and proteins. By blocking the folic acid synthesis pathway, this drug interferes with the disruption of the growth and multiplication of bacteria.
How is it administered?
Always take Trimoxazole as instructed by your doctor. This medicine should be taken orally. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on the disease condition and other factors. Do not overdose on the medicine.

The side effects known to occur commonly during the treatment with Trimoxazole are headache, feeling sick (nausea), diarrhea., skin rashes and candidiasis. Some serious side effects also include difficulty in breathing, fainting, swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat may be red and painful and cause difficulty in swallowing, chest pain, and red patches on the skin.
Warnings
This drug is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other sulfonamide medicines, such as sulfonylureas or thiazide diuretics. Precautions
Before administering Jolltrim 50ml Oral Suspension, it is important to inform your physician if your child has any pre-existing liver disorders, kidney disorders, blood disorders, allergic conditions, intolerance to sugars, or any other diseases. This information is necessary as it helps the physician to assess the suitability of the medication for your child and determine the appropriate dosage. Notify your physician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby.
Word of Advice
Complete the entire course of treatment as prescribed by your healthcare professional. Skipping doses or not completing the full course may reduce the medicine's effectiveness and increase the risk of antibiotic resistance. Do not skip doses.
