Product Introduction
Acriptega tablet contains dolutegravir, lamivudine, and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Dolutegravir is an antiviral medicine belonging to the integrase inhibitor class. Lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate are antiretroviral medicines. Acriptega is indicated for treatment of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection in adults and children weighing 40 kg or above. It functions as a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) and works by inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase enzymes, which are necessary for viral replication. During treatment with this medicine, patients may still develop HIV-related infections. Although effective antiretroviral therapy reduces risk, HIV transmission remains possible while taking this medication. Contact your doctor for additional information. Do not take Acriptega tablet if you are allergic to dolutegravir, lamivudine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, or any other ingredients in the formulation. Patients with pancreatitis or at risk of pancreatitis should use this combination with caution. Your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, and liver and kidney function during treatment to prevent serious complications. Inform your doctor if you have or have had a history of lactic acidosis (excess lactic acid), pancreatitis (pancreatic inflammation), bone disease (osteonecrosis—death of bone tissue), fractures, liver disease (chronic hepatitis B), or kidney problems. Notify your doctor if you are planning pregnancy or believe you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Acriptega tablet due to the potential risk of HIV transmission to the infant from mother to child.
