Admapag 25mg Tablet is an anticoagulant belonging to the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist class, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It is used to treat low platelet counts resulting from primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune condition in which the immune system destroys platelets. Platelets are blood cells essential for clotting and maintaining blood vessel wall integrity. Low platelet levels can lead to severe bleeding and bruising. The tablet is also used in adults to treat low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anaemia, a serious blood disorder occurring when bone marrow fails to produce adequate new blood cells.

Admapag 25mg Tablet should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the drug or its components. Allergic reactions range from mild to severe and may include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. The tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease. This drug can cause hepatotoxicity, indicated by increased liver enzymes and bilirubin levels. Use in severe liver disease may further deteriorate liver function, requiring caution.

Your doctor will recommend screening for cataracts. Regular eye testing should be arranged if you do not undergo routine eye examinations. You may also be screened for bleeding in or around your retina, the light-sensitive layer of cells at the back of the eye. If you discontinue this tablet, your blood platelet count is likely to decrease again within several days. Platelet count will be monitored, and your doctor will discuss appropriate precautions. A very high blood platelet count may increase the risk of blood clotting. However, blood clots can form with normal or even low platelet counts. Your doctor will adjust your dose to ensure your platelet count does not become excessively high. Do not take this tablet with dairy products or drinks, as the calcium in these items affects medicine absorption. Use effective contraception during treatment, and inform your doctor if you become pregnant. Admapag 25mg Tablet is not advised for children under one year with ITP. It is not recommended for patients under 18 with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C or severe aplastic anaemia. Inform your doctor of all medicines you are taking, have recently taken, or may take, including non-prescription medicines and vitamins.

Ensure that in the 2 hours after or 4 hours before you take this medication, you don’t consume dairy foods (such as cheese or butter), milk or milkshakes, antacids, and supplements containing iron, aluminium, magnesium, calcium, selenium, zinc, or calcium. If you forget to take Admapag 25mg Tablet, take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take more than one dose of this drug daily. Don’t stop taking this tablet without talking to your doctor. If your doctor advises you to stop treatment, your platelet count will be checked each week for four weeks. If you have any doubts regarding the use of this medicine, ask your doctor.
