Product Introduction

Alcibicla Tablet is an antiretroviral medication containing Bictegravir, Emtricitabine, and Tenofovir Alafenamide. It is indicated for treatment of HIV-1 infection. HIV-1 is a human immunodeficiency virus that damages and weakens the immune system. This infection gradually compromises immune function, increasing susceptibility to opportunistic infections. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Alcibicla Tablet or any of its ingredients. During early stages of HIV-1 treatment, some patients may develop an inflammatory response to opportunistic infections, a condition known as immune reconstitution syndrome. This may occur after initiating this drug or other antiretroviral therapies. Awareness of this possibility and monitoring for signs of worsening infections or inflammatory symptoms is important. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart failure, pancreatitis, bone disease, fractures, or liver or kidney disorders. Patients with pancreatitis or at increased risk of pancreatitis should use this combination medicine with caution. During treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, and liver and kidney function to prevent serious complications. Adults of childbearing potential should consider using effective contraception to prevent unintended pregnancy. If you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, your doctor may recommend an alternative treatment, as this regimen is not recommended in early pregnancy. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to the risk of mother-to-child transmission of HIV-1. Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal supplements, to identify potential interactions.

How it works

Alcibicla Tablet combines integrase strand transfer inhibitors and nucleoside, nucleotide analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors. It increases the number of CD4 T cells and stimulates the immune system to fight against infections. Thereby, it reduces the viral load of HIV in the blood and decreases the severity of HIV infection.
