Product Introduction

Alphanate 250IU Injection 5ml is an antihemophilic medicine classified as a miscellaneous coagulation modifier. It contains the active ingredient Factor VIII and is used to treat and prevent bleeding in patients with hemophilia A, a genetic disorder characterised by deficiency or dysfunction of factor VIII, a clotting protein in the blood.

This drug is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to it or its components. Discontinue use and contact your doctor immediately if you develop a rash or skin symptoms. Use of this drug increases cardiovascular risk. It is advisable to discuss with your physician if you have any existing heart disease condition before initiating treatment with Alphanate 250IU Injection 5ml.

A central venous access device (CVAD) may be required to administer this drug treatment. The risks associated with CVAD-related complications should be considered, including local infections, bacteremia (bacterial infection in the bloodstream), and catheter site thrombosis (blood clot formation at the catheter site). Proper care and monitoring should be exercised to minimise these risks.

Development of inhibitors (antibodies) is a known complication that can occur during treatment with this medicine. These inhibitors can interfere with the effectiveness of the treatment. Patients receiving Alphanate 250IU Injection 5ml therapy should be closely monitored for the development of inhibitors. If bleeding remains uncontrolled with this drug, notify your doctor immediately.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before starting treatment with this drug.

Expert Tips

If you regularly or repeatedly receive human plasma-derived Alphanate 250IU Injection 5ml products, your doctor may recommend vaccination against hepatitis A and B. It is because there is a possible risk of exposure to these viruses through plasma-derived products. Vaccination can help protect against these infections. Good dental hygiene is important to maintain oral health and prevent tooth and gum disease. It is particularly relevant for individuals with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia A, as they may be more susceptible to excessive bleeding. If you notice any changes in your symptoms or have concerns about the treatment with Alphanate 250IU Injection 5ml, immediately communicate them to your physician for more advice.
