Amlodac D Tablet is an antihypertensive medication belonging to the calcium channel blockers and thiazide diuretics category, containing the active ingredients amlodipine and indapamide. This combination is commonly used to treat hypertension, a chronic condition characterised by persistently high blood pressure levels. If left untreated or uncontrolled, hypertension can increase the risk of cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks and strokes. This tablet is often prescribed when a single medication alone is ineffective in controlling blood pressure.

This medicine can affect uric acid levels in the body and may increase them, which is a risk factor for gout—a form of arthritis caused by excess deposition of uric acid crystals, particularly in the joints, leading to swelling, pain, and inflammation.
