Product Introduction

Aplet 60mg tablet contains prasugrel, an antiplatelet medication belonging to the thienopyridine class. It is indicated to reduce the risk of thrombotic cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Prasugrel works by inhibiting platelet activation and aggregation, thereby preventing blood clot formation.

Prior to initiating treatment with Aplet 60mg tablet, inform your doctor of any history of bleeding disorders, recent surgical procedures, or other medical conditions that may elevate your bleeding risk. Disclose all concurrent medications to your healthcare provider to prevent potential drug interactions. Maintain regular monitoring for bleeding signs including unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, or blood in urine or stools, and report these findings to your healthcare provider immediately.

Uses

Aplet 60mg tablet is used to treat the following: Reduce thrombotic cardiovascular events, including stent thrombosis. Manage patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Treat unstable angina (UA). Address non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Treat ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

How it works

Prasugrel acts as an inhibitor of platelet activation and aggregation by irreversibly binding its active metabolite to the P2Y12 class of ADP receptors on platelets.

How to Use

Start treatment with Prasugrel by taking a single 60 mg oral loading dose, followed by a maintenance dose of 10 mg daily. Patients should also take aspirin daily at a dose of 75 mg to 325 mg. You can take Prasugrel with or without food. For patients weighing less than 60 kg, the 10 mg daily maintenance dose may lead to increased exposure to the active metabolite and a higher risk of bleeding. Consider reducing the maintenance dose to 5 mg for these patients, but be aware that the effectiveness and safety of this 5 mg dose have not been prospectively evaluated.

Side Effects

Like all medications, Aplet 60mg tablet can cause side effects, although not everyone who takes it will experience them. Common side effects Bleeding Bruising Nausea Abdominal pain Dizziness Headache Rash or itching Serious side effects Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) Significant bleeding events Allergic reactions Severe gastrointestinal bleeding
