Product Introduction
Apnicaf 20mg Injection contains caffeine, a CNS stimulant used in the treatment of apnoea of prematurity. It may be given orally or via a feeding bottle. Apnoea of prematurity is a condition in premature infants characterised by breathing cessation lasting approximately 20 seconds, accompanied by reduced heart rate and decreased oxygen supply to tissues.
If breastfeeding while your infant receives Apnicaf 20mg Injection solution, avoid consuming coffee or caffeine-containing products as caffeine may pass into breast milk.
Discuss with your doctor any existing liver, kidney, or heart conditions. Inform the doctor if your child has seizure disorders, slow weight gain, or frequent regurgitation (spitting up milk or food), as a precautionary measure.
Notify your baby's doctor if the infant produces an unusual volume of urine, has reduced weight gain or food intake, experiences unusual heart rhythms, or has been detected with heart or kidney disease.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if caffeine was consumed prior to delivery.
