Product Introduction
Augplat 125mcg injection is a platelet-stimulating agent containing the active ingredient Romiplostim. It is used to treat immune primary thrombocytopenia (ITP), a condition in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys its own platelets, resulting in low platelet counts. This medication is primarily used in adults and children aged 18 years and over with immune primary thrombocytopenia when other treatments have not proven effective. It is prescribed for patients who have not achieved adequate platelet count increases with immunoglobulins, corticosteroids, or splenectomy (surgical spleen removal).
Augplat 125mcg injection is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other medicines produced by DNA technology using the microorganism Escherichia coli (E. coli).
Before receiving this injection, inform your physician about certain medical conditions including liver problems, cancer, recent surgery, smoking habits, and whether you are taking birth control pills. These factors may affect the safety and effectiveness of the medication, and your physician must be aware of them to determine whether Augplat 125mcg injection is suitable for you or if any adjustments to your treatment plan are necessary.
During treatment with this drug, your physician will monitor your blood tests regularly to detect any abnormalities that may indicate bone marrow changes. If abnormalities are detected, your doctor will evaluate their significance and determine the appropriate course of action, as this drug has been associated with major changes in the bone marrow. Depending on the findings, your doctor may decide to continue or discontinue treatment.
Augplat 125mcg injection is not recommended for pregnant patients unless specifically indicated by your physician. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are planning pregnancy before initiating treatment. It is not known whether this drug is present in human milk. Therefore, breastfeeding should be avoided.
Uses

How it works
Augplat 125mcg injection works by stimulating the production of platelets in the bone marrow. It binds to and activates the thrombopoietin receptor, which promotes the development and maturation of platelets. This helps to increase the platelet count in individuals with ITP.
