Product Introduction

Azalive 100mg Injection contains Azacitidine, a chemotherapy medication classified as a nucleoside metabolic inhibitor. It is used in adults for the treatment of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), particularly in patients who are not suitable candidates for stem cell transplantation. In MDS, the bone marrow produces faulty blood cells, whereas in AML, the bone marrow releases immature, non-functional white blood cells into the bloodstream. This medicine works by controlling abnormal cell growth in the bone marrow and improving blood cell production. Before starting therapy, inform your doctor if you have a history of liver problems, kidney issues, or lung disorders. It is also important to inform your doctor about any infections, allergies, or ongoing medications.

Uses

Doctors may prescribe Azalive 100mg Injection for: Treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in patients with 20–30% blasts, especially those ineligible for stem cell transplant Intermediate-2 and High-risk categories of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) For patients who cannot tolerate this medicine, your doctor may consider Azalive 100mg Injection alternatives.

How it works

The Azalive injection works by altering the DNA inside cancerous bone marrow cells. It reduces DNA methylation, a chemical process that can switch off tumor-suppressor genes. By inhibiting this process, Azalive 100mg Injection composition allows the body to restart the production of healthy blood cells and slow the growth of abnormal cells. Additionally, it incorporates into RNA and DNA within rapidly dividing cells, disrupting their function and causing cell death in cancer cells.

How to Use

Azalive 100mg Injection is administered subcutaneously (under the skin) by a trained healthcare professional. The injection site is typically the thigh, stomach, or upper arm. Your doctor will calculate your dose based on your height, weight, and overall health condition. Do not attempt to self-administer this medication.

Every medicine affects people differently. While using Azalive 100mg Injection, you may experience: Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea Constipation Fatigue Loss of appetite Dizziness Headache Pain at the injection site Sore throat or runny nose Joint or muscle pain Low blood counts (Anemia, low platelets, low white cells) Serious side effects: Unexplained bleeding (in stool or urine) Severe infections or pneumonia Allergic reactions (swelling, rash, difficulty breathing) Seizures or severe headache Signs of kidney or liver problems Report any unusual or severe symptoms to your doctor immediately.
