Product Introduction
Bicatim 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Bicalutamide. It is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-androgens. It is prescribed alongside a Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) analog or surgical removal of the testicles. Bicatim 50mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but should be taken at the same time each day. The dose of the medication will depend on the patient's condition. This medication should be taken as directed by the doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose as it may cause serious side effects, and this medicine must be taken even when the patient feels well. It forms part of androgen deprivation therapy, which combines radiation, surgical and hormonal therapy in high-risk patients. Androgen deprivation therapy substantially reduces testosterone levels. Prostate cancer is sensitive to androgens, and this treatment aims to counteract both the source and effects of androgens. Inform your physician immediately if you experience side effects such as blood in the urine or severe allergic reactions from this treatment.
