Product Introduction
Bilafav 40mg Tablet is an antihistamine containing the active ingredient Bilastine. It is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, a condition characterised by nasal inflammation resulting from immune system overreaction to airborne allergens, and chronic urticaria, which presents as long-term hives—raised, itchy skin welts that may develop due to various factors. The medication provides relief from symptoms including sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, and rhinorrhoea.
Do not take Bilafav 40mg Tablet if you are allergic to Bilastine or any other ingredient in the formulation. Exercise caution if you have moderate or severe renal impairment and are concurrently taking other medications. This tablet is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.
Limited data are available regarding use of this medicine in pregnant women, during breast-feeding, and on fertility. If you are pregnant, breast-feeding, suspect pregnancy, or are planning conception, seek medical advice before taking this medication.

How it works
Bilastine works by selectively blocking H1 histamine receptors in the body, which effectively prevents histamine from binding to these receptors. By doing so, this drug reduces or prevents the allergic reactions triggered by histamine release, leading to relief from allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itching, and watery eyes.
How to Use
Take the Bilafav 40mg Tablet as advised by your physician. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

This tablet should not be taken with food or grapefruit juice or other fruit juices, as these can decrease the effectiveness of Bilafav 40mg Tablet.
