Bortenat 2mg Injection

Bortenat 2mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication belonging to the class of proteasome inhibitors. It contains the active ingredient Bortezomib and is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. Multiple myeloma is a malignancy of plasma cells predominantly found in bone marrow. Mantle cell lymphoma is a less common cancer affecting the lymph nodes. This medication is used concomitantly with other chemotherapy medicines including pegylated liposomal doxorubicin, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, prednisolone or thalidomide in patients who have not started treatment and are ineligible for blood stem cell transplant. Common side effects associated with Bortenat 2mg Injection include pneumonia, loss of appetite, sensitivity, tingling and burning sensation of the skin, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, mouth ulcers, constipation, muscle and bone pain, hair loss, fever, infections, itching, redness, dehydration and stomach problems. Inform your physician if these side effects are bothersome or persistent. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Bortenat Injection or any of its ingredients. Do not use this medication if you have severe lung or heart problems. Before commencing treatment, inform your physician if you are experiencing neuropathy (nerve malfunction), cardiac disorders, severe lung problems, pulmonary disorders, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome, gastrointestinal disorders, thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), neutropenia (low white blood cell count), tumour lysis syndrome (metabolic abnormalities occurring as a complication during cancer treatment) or hepatic disorders. Inform your doctor of diabetes, as this injection can affect your blood glucose levels.

Bortenat 2mg Injection Injection works by exerting a toxic effect on cancer cells. It inhibits the 26S proteasome and blocks a major cell signaling pathway. This inhibition of the signaling pathway makes the cancer cells sensitive to chemotherapy. This medicine also enhances the build-up of a protein and minimizes cancer cell growth and multiplication.
