Brivepsy 50mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication that belongs to the class of synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) ligands and contains the active ingredient brivaracetam. It is used to treat partial-onset seizures in patients with epilepsy. Partial-onset seizures, also known as focal seizures, are a type of epileptic seizure that begins in a specific area within one hemisphere of the brain. These seizures originate in a specific region of the brain rather than affecting the entire brain simultaneously.

Brivepsy 50mg Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to brivaracetam, other similar chemical compounds such as levetiracetam or piracetam, or any other ingredients in the formulation.

Inform your doctor before taking this medication if you have liver problems. Depending on the severity of your liver condition, your doctor may adjust your dosage or closely monitor your liver function during treatment.

Children under 2 years of age should not take this drug.

Patients taking antiepileptic medicines should be aware of the possibility of experiencing thoughts of harming or killing themselves. While this is a rare side effect, contact your physician immediately if you experience thoughts of harming or killing yourself while taking this drug.

Brivepsy 50mg Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as its effects on pregnancy and the unborn baby are not well established. Pregnant women should consult their doctor for alternative treatments.

Breastfeeding is not advised in patients taking this drug as the medicine passes into breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during treatment.

Take the Brivepsy 50mg Tablet as your physician advises. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

Brivepsy 50mg Tablet is given through intravenous infusion. Some individuals may experience infusion-related reactions, including a rash, hives, itching, or redness at the infusion site. If you notice any of these symptoms during or after the infusion, notify your physician immediately.
