Product Introduction

Busefan 60mg Injection is an anti-cancer (antineoplastic/cytotoxic) chemotherapy drug containing the active ingredient Busulfan. It is an alkyl sulfonate belonging to the class of alkylating agents. It is indicated for treating chronic myelogenous leukaemia (a type of cancer that causes an increase in white blood cells) and is given as a conditioning regimen before hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (a procedure in which a patient receives healthy blood-forming cells (stem cells) from a donor to replace their own stem cells that have been destroyed by treatment with radiation or high doses of chemotherapy). Chronic myelogenous leukaemia is an uncommon type of cancer that affects bone marrow (soft, spongy tissue that produces blood cells). It causes an increase in white blood cell count. The term "chronic" indicates that the disease develops slowly and extends over a long period of time. The word "myelogenous" describes the type of blood cells that are affected. It typically affects older patients and rarely occurs in children, though any age group can be affected. Busefan 60mg Injection can cause a severe decrease in bone marrow activity. If patients are taking any other medications that decrease the blood cell count, they should discuss this with their healthcare professional before taking these medications.

How it works
