Product Introduction

Camforte 0.5mg Tablet contains Cabergoline, a dopamine receptor agonist indicated for treating conditions associated with elevated prolactin levels. Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland; elevated levels can cause menstrual irregularities, galactorrhea (abnormal breast milk secretion), infertility, and reduced libido. Cabergoline works by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain, which suppresses prolactin secretion from the pituitary gland and restores hormonal balance. The medication is used in patients with hyperprolactinemia, prolactinomas, and related prolactin-mediated disorders. Camforte 0.5mg Tablet is also prescribed for lactation suppression when breastfeeding is contraindicated for medical reasons. Due to Cabergoline's extended half-life, dosing frequency is typically once or twice weekly, which supports treatment adherence in patients.

Uses

Camforte 0.5mg Tablet is prescribed for: Hyperprolactinemia (elevated prolactin levels). Prolactin-secreting pituitary adenomas (prolactinomas). How it works

Camforte 0.5mg Tablet reduces prolactin secretion by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain, particularly in the pituitary gland. This results in normalized prolactin levels, alleviating symptoms associated with hyperprolactinemia, such as galactorrhea and menstrual irregularities.
