Product Introduction

Carbitex 100mcg injection contains the active ingredient Carbetocin, which belongs to the oxytocin receptor agonist class. It is indicated for prevention of excessive bleeding following recent childbirth in women. It is a synthetic nonapeptide form of the hormone oxytocin, which promotes contractions of the uterine muscle and epithelial cells in the breast. This hormone facilitates labour induction during delivery and reduces blood flow from the placenta to the baby following delivery. Carbitex 100mcg injection should not be administered to patients who are pregnant or in labour with an undelivered baby, have allergy to Carbetocin or its ingredients, or have allergy to oxytocin. Avoid this medicine if patients have liver or kidney disease, serious heart disease, or epilepsy. Before administering this medicine, it is essential to inform the attending physician if patients have experienced migraines, have asthma, pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnancy), eclampsia (toxaemia of pregnancy), heart or circulatory issues (such as high blood pressure), or any other medical conditions.

Uses

How it works
