Product Introduction

Carfimib 60mg Injection is an anticancer medication containing carfilzomib as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of multiple myeloma, a malignancy of plasma cells (a type of white blood cell). In multiple myeloma, these cells undergo uncontrolled growth and accumulate in the bone marrow, causing damage to bone and renal tissue. Treatment with this medication reduces the manifestations of multiple myeloma, including bone pain, fatigue, and anaemia, thereby improving quality of life in affected patients. When combined with other anticancer agents, this medication can substantially enhance survival outcomes in patients with multiple myeloma. It is frequently administered as part of combination therapy regimens. As with all medications, adverse effects may occur. Commonly reported side effects include fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, and reduced blood cell counts. Patients taking Carfimib 60mg Injection require adequate hydration, as this medication carries a dehydration risk, and dehydration may intensify certain treatment-related side effects. This medication is effective in treating multiple myeloma, and the therapeutic benefits may justify the risks for many patients with this condition.

Uses

Carfimib 60mg Injection is used to treat Treatment of multiple myeloma

How it works

Carfimib 60mg Injection is a proteasome inhibitor, which means it works by blocking the action of proteasomes, the enzymes responsible for breaking down proteins in cells. By blocking proteasomes, this medication can prevent the growth and survival of cancer cells, ultimately leading to the death of cancer cells. This can help to slow or stop the progression of multiple myeloma and may improve survival rates for some patients.

How to Use

Carfimib 60mg Injection is typically administered as an intravenous (IV) injection in a hospital or clinical setting by a healthcare provider. The exact dosing and frequency of administration will depend on the specific condition being treated and other individual factors, such as the patient's age, weight, and overall health. If a dose is missed, it's important to contact your healthcare provider as soon as possible to determine the appropriate course of action. Suppose the missed dose is discovered within a few hours of the scheduled time. In that case, your healthcare provider may recommend administering the missed dose as soon as possible while maintaining the usual interval between doses. However, if more than a few hours have passed since the missed dose, your healthcare provider may recommend skipping the missed dose and resuming the regular dosing schedule at the next scheduled time. It's important not to double up on doses to make up for a missed one.
