Product Introduction
Celestrase 1 EP 500IU Injection is an immunomodulator containing Human C1-esterase inhibitor as its active ingredient. It is classified as a complement inhibitor. C1-esterase inhibitor is a naturally occurring human protein present in blood that regulates inflammation and swelling. When C1-esterase inhibitor levels are insufficient or the inhibitor is not functioning properly, angioedema (swelling) can develop, presenting with symptoms including abdominal pain and swelling of the hands, face, eyelids, lips, tongue, genitals, larynx, or feet. This medicine prevents hereditary angioedema in adults, adolescents, and children aged six years and above by raising C1-esterase inhibitor levels in the bloodstream. Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to Human C1-esterase inhibitor or any other ingredient. Before beginning treatment, inform your doctor if you have a history of venous and arterial thromboembolic (blood clotting) conditions. Celestrase 1 EP 500IU Injection may increase infection risk (viral) as it is derived from human blood or plasma. Inform your doctor if you plan to receive vaccination against hepatitis A or B. Notify your doctor if you have an indwelling venous catheter (a plastic tube for urine drainage from the bladder), atherosclerosis, are taking oral contraception (androgen), have morbid obesity, or have immobility (prolonged bedrest or inability to move around). Inform your physician if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy and if you follow a sodium-restricted diet, as this medicine contains sodium.
Uses
Prevent hereditary angioedema
How it works
Celestrase 1 EP 500IU Injection inhibits the complement system by binding to inactivate proteases which prevents an increase in vascular permeability. This regulates immune responses, preventing tissue damage and inflammation.

This medicine is made from human blood, so there is a risk of viral transmission. Manufacturers minimize this risk by: Testing plasma donors for various infectious agents. Performing viral inactivation during manufacturing. Discuss any concerns about safety with your healthcare provider.
