Celrixafor 24mg Injection

Celrixafor 24mg injection is an antineoplastic containing the active ingredient Plerixafor. It is used in collecting blood stem cells, storage, and transplantation. It is also used in lymphoma (WBC cancer), multiple myeloma (plasma cell cancer in bone marrow), or a solid tumour. Talk to your doctor if you have or had any heart disease. Before starting treatment, notify your doctor if you have high WBC counts, low platelet counts, or a history of lightheadedness or fainting, especially before injection. It is not advised to take this medicine for stem cell mobilisation if you have leukaemia. Do not take this injection if you are allergic to Plerixafor or any other medicine ingredient. Notify your doctor if you have kidney disorders; your doctor may adjust the dose of Celrixafor 24mg if you have existing kidney disease. Your doctor may also perform regular blood tests to monitor blood cell count. Do not take this injection if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or think you might be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. It is recommended to use effective contraception. Report to your doctor if you experience any side effects such as rashes or swelling around your eyes, a change in breathing (lack of oxygen), or pain in the abdomen (upper left) or left shoulder.

Celrixafor 24mg injection works by blocking a protein called CXCR4 (chemokine receptor) on stem cells, which helps them move from the bone marrow into the bloodstream. By blocking CXCR4, Celrixafor 24mg causes the stem cells to be released into the bloodstream, where the stem cells can be collected and isolated using a machine and stored for transplantation.

Celrixafor 24mg injection is administered as a subcutaneous injection (under your skin). If this drug is recommended for you, it will be given by a doctor. Do not self-administer. Your doctor will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the condition because it differs from person to person.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
