Product Introduction
Cernos Depot 1gm Injection is a hormonal therapy belonging to the class of androgens. It contains the active ingredient testosterone. This medicine is used for treating adult males with testosterone deficiency, a condition known as male hypogonadism. Your doctor may prescribe this injection after confirming low testosterone levels in your blood, along with related symptoms such as decreased libido, infertility, fatigue, mood changes, and reduced bone density. Patients with soy allergies or known hypersensitivity to testosterone should inform their doctor before starting this medicine. It is not intended for use in women, especially those who are pregnant, due to the risk of fetal harm. Caution is needed in men with a history of prostate cancer, breast cancer, heart conditions, or high blood pressure. Your doctor may recommend regular monitoring of prostate health, red blood cell counts, and hormone levels during this treatment.
Uses
Treatment of primary hypogonadism (a condition where the testicles fail to produce adequate testosterone) Management of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency due to issues in the hypothalamus or pituitary gland)
How it works
Cernos Depot 1gm Injection contains testosterone, which works by binding to specific androgen receptors inside cells. This receptor-hormone complex moves into the nucleus and attaches to DNA, promoting the expression of genes that control the development and maintenance of male sexual characteristics. Just like how a testosterone tablet works at the cellular level, this injection helps restore normal testosterone levels and improve related symptoms.
How to Use
Cernos Depot 1gm Injection will be given by your doctor or a trained nurse in a hospital or clinic setting. It is administered intramuscularly (into the muscle), often in the buttock region. The frequency and dose depend on your testosterone levels, overall health, and response to the treatment. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and attend all scheduled appointments.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Cernos Depot 1gm Injection may cause some side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Common side effects: Rise in blood pressure Skin redness or rash Acne Headache Pain or discomfort at the injection site Increased levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) Elevated red blood cell and hemoglobin levels Serious side effects (seek medical help if you notice these): Prolonged or frequent erections Yellowing of skin or eyes (signs of liver problems) Swelling in legs, ankles, or sudden weight gain Breathing difficulties, especially during sleep (sleep apnea) Sudden mood changes, depression, or aggressive behavior
