Product Introduction

Cernos Gel is an androgen belonging to the class of hormonal medications. It contains testosterone as its active ingredient and is indicated for male hypogonadism, a condition characterised by testosterone deficiency or absence in adult males. The diagnosis is confirmed through blood testosterone level monitoring and assessment of associated symptoms including impotence, infertility, reduced libido, fatigue, depression, and bone loss.

Patients with known allergy to testosterone or soy must inform their doctor prior to use. The medicine is contraindicated in men with prostate cancer or breast cancer and should be used with caution in these patients. Those with cardiac disorders or hypertension should notify their doctor before commencing treatment.

Cernos Gel is not recommended for women, particularly those who are pregnant, as it may cause virilization of a female fetus when used during pregnancy. The safety and efficacy of this medication in paediatric males and in adult males with age-related hypogonadism have not been established.

Patients should inform their doctor of any risk factors for thrombosis, including family history of venous thromboembolism, existing blood clots, current smoking status, obesity, or personal history of cancer.

How it works

Cernos gel binds to the cytoplasmic androgen receptor; these receptor hormone complexes get transported to the nucleus for binding with DNA. This process leads to the expression of specific genes responsible for the development and maintenance of male sexual characteristics and other androgenic effects.
