Product Introduction

Cervarix Injection contains Human Papillomavirus vaccine as its active component. It is indicated for protection against infections and diseases caused by human papillomavirus types 6, 11, 16, and 18. These virus types cause pre-cancerous lesions in the female genital areas (cervix, vulva, vagina) and anal regions, and cause genital warts in males and females. HPV types 16 and 18 account for approximately 70–80% of cervical and anal cancer cases, while HPV types 6 and 11 account for approximately 90% of genital wart cases. Human papillomavirus is a common sexually transmitted infection that can lead to various health problems, including genital warts and several types of cancer, such as cervical, anal, penile, and throat cancer. Cervarix Injection does not cure existing disease; it provides protection against infection. It does not affect persons already infected with the virus. This vaccine is intended solely for disease prevention. The vaccine demonstrates greatest effectiveness when administered before sexual activity begins, as it is designed to protect against HPV strains commonly transmitted through sexual contact. Cervarix Injection is generally regarded as safe and effective and has been demonstrated to substantially reduce the risk of HPV-related health problems. No known interactions with other vaccines have been reported.
