Product Introduction

Cetrotide 0.25 mg injection is a hormonal medicine belonging to the group of gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonists and contains the active ingredient cetrorelix. Cetrotide 0.25 mg injection is commonly used in fertility treatment, primarily in assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF, where it helps prevent premature ovulation and supports the synchronised development of multiple follicles, improving egg retrieval outcomes. The dosage for IVF treatment is determined by the doctor based on the patient's response and overall fertility plan. The price of Cetrotide 0.25 mg injection may vary depending on the pharmacy and location.

Cetrotide should not be used in individuals allergic to cetrorelix or its components. Caution is advised in patients with liver or kidney problems, as dose adjustments or close monitoring may be required. The medicine is usually used alongside other ovarian stimulation drugs and may increase the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. Symptoms such as severe pelvic pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, or sudden weight gain should be reported immediately to the treating doctor.

Side effects may include allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling, breathing difficulty, fever, or chills. The injection should be stored as per manufacturer instructions. Cetrotide is not intended for children and is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. In some cases, doctors may discuss alternative treatment options depending on treatment response, tolerance, or availability. Patients should use this medicine strictly under medical supervision.

How it works

Cetrorelix works by blocking the effects of GnRH, a hormone that triggers the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). By inhibiting GnRH, this drug helps regulate ovulation timing during ART procedures.
