Product Introduction

Cibirelix 0.25mg Injection PFS is a hormonal agent belonging to the gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist class, containing the active ingredient Cetrorelix. It is indicated for the treatment of female infertility, defined as the inability to conceive or carry a pregnancy to completion. This medication helps synchronise the development of multiple follicles, enabling their retrieval during IVF procedures.

This drug is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to Cetrorelix or any component of the formulation. Patients with kidney or liver disease require special monitoring and possible dose adjustment. Cibirelix 0.25mg Injection PFS is typically used concurrently with other ovarian stimulation medications as part of fertility treatment.

The primary serious adverse effect is Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), characterised by enlarged ovaries and potential cyst formation. Patients experiencing severe pelvic pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, or sudden weight gain should contact their physician immediately, as these may indicate OHSS. Similarly, seek immediate medical attention if acute allergic reactions occur, including difficulty breathing, wheezing, swelling, rash, itching, fever, or chills.

This drug is not intended for paediatric use. Patients must inform their physician of all current, recent, or planned medications, as interactions with Cetrorelix may occur. Use in pregnant and breastfeeding women is not recommended.

Uses

Female infertility

How it works

Cetrorelix works by blocking the effects of GnRH, a hormone that triggers the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). By inhibiting GnRH, this drug helps regulate ovulation timing during ART procedures.

How to Use

Cibirelix 0.25mg Injection PFS will be given to you by a doctor or other healthcare professional. They will administer the injection in the fatty tissues just under the skin of your belly (subcutaneously). To minimize skin irritation, your physician will select a different area of your belly for each injection.
