Categories: Cardiology

Conditions: Heart Disorder

Product Introduction

Cilacar C Tablet is an antihypertensive medication belonging to the calcium channel blockers and thiazide diuretics category. It contains Cilnidipine and Chlorthalidone as active ingredients. This combination is commonly used to treat hypertension, a chronic condition characterised by persistently high blood pressure levels. If left untreated or uncontrolled, hypertension can increase the risk of cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks and strokes. Cilacar C Tablet is often prescribed when a single medication alone is ineffective in controlling blood pressure.

Cilacar C Tablet should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to this drug or its components. This tablet is contraindicated in patients with aortic stenosis, which is the narrowing of the aortic valve in the heart. The medication can affect normal heart functioning in this condition and should be avoided. If you have experienced heart failure following a heart attack, this drug should not be taken and is not suitable in such cases.

You must inform your physician about any liver or kidney problems you have. Individuals with impaired liver or kidney function may require dose adjustments or alternative medications. Notify your physician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby.

Grapefruit juice and grapefruit should be avoided by individuals taking Cilacar C Tablet. Grapefruit and its juice contain compounds that can inhibit the action of the enzyme CYP3A4, leading to raised levels of the medication in the bloodstream.
