Cosalon 50mg Tablet

Cosalon 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Bicalutamide. It is indicated for treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It belongs to the class of non-steroidal anti-androgens. It is prescribed alongside Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) analogue or surgical castration. Cosalon 50mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but should be taken at the same time each day. Dosage depends on the individual patient's condition. The medication must be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose as it may cause serious side effects, and the medicine must be continued even when the patient feels well. It forms part of androgen deprivation therapy, which combines radiation, surgical and hormonal approaches in high-risk patients. Androgen deprivation therapy reduces testosterone levels substantially. Prostate cancer is sensitive to androgen, and this treatment aims to counteract both the source and effects of androgen. Inform your physician immediately if you experience side effects including blood in urine or severe allergic reactions during this treatment.

Treatment of advanced prostate cancer

Cosalon 50mg Tablet binds to the cytosol androgen receptors and blocks the effect of the androgen hormone. It interrupts the interaction of androgen receptors to hormones testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. This, in turn, blocks the growth of cancer cells in the prostate gland.

Consume the tablet at the same time each day, with or without food.
