It is indicated in the treatment of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an infectious respiratory disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus.

This drug is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to Remdesivir or any of its components. Patients who have experienced severe allergic reactions to this medication should not receive it.

Use is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment, as it can cause severe liver-related adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function is recommended during treatment. If significant liver function abnormalities are observed, treatment should be discontinued.

Caution is advised in individuals with renal impairment (moderate to severe kidney disease), as Remdesivir is primarily eliminated through the kidneys. Monitoring of renal function and dose adjustment in patients with pre-existing renal impairment is necessary.
