Product Introduction
Cytasted 500mg Injection contains cytarabine, an antineoplastic medicine that belongs to the antimetabolite class of chemotherapy drugs. It is used either alone or in combination with other chemotherapy agents to treat certain forms of leukemia, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). It is also prescribed to treat or help prevent meningeal leukemia, a condition in which cancer affects the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
Do not use Cytasted 500mg Injection if you are allergic to cytarabine or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have problems with body coordination, reduced bone marrow function, liver disease, kidney disease, or if you are receiving other anticancer medicines. Also let your healthcare provider know if you have recently undergone or are scheduled for dialysis, as this may influence your treatment plan.
This medicine may increase uric acid levels in the blood, and your doctor may prescribe medication to help manage this side effect. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or throat, difficulty breathing, or wheezing. Since the safety of cytarabine in patients with severe kidney failure has not been fully established, it is important to inform your doctor about any existing kidney conditions before receiving this medication.
