Product Introduction

Dacivo Injection is an anti-cancer medication containing Dactinomycin, also known as actinomycin D. It belongs to a class of drugs called antineoplastic antibiotics, commonly used in chemotherapy. This medicine is primarily used to treat specific types of cancer by slowing down or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Dactinomycin is typically administered as an injection under the supervision of a trained healthcare professional. Dacivo Injection is used in various cancer types such as Wilms' tumour, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, and testicular cancer, among others. Though effective, it must be used cautiously in patients with liver disease or low blood counts. It is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary. Patients undergoing this treatment require close medical monitoring due to the risk of side effects and drug interactions.

How it works

Dactinomycin works by interfering with the DNA of cancer cells. It binds to their genetic material and prevents them from multiplying. When cancer cells can’t grow or divide, they eventually die. This helps to shrink tumours and slow down the spread of cancer. Since the drug targets rapidly dividing cells, it can also affect some healthy cells, which is why side effects may occur. However, its action makes it highly effective in stopping the progression of certain fast-growing cancers when used as prescribed by a cancer specialist.
