Dacsted 500mg Injection is an antineoplastic drug of the alkylating agent class, containing dacarbazine as its active ingredient. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of metastatic malignant melanoma and Hodgkin's disease. It is often used in combination with cisplatin, a cytotoxic agent, for the treatment of certain cancers including Hodgkin's lymphoma, and in combination with temozolomide for melanoma treatment. Use of this medicine may increase the risk of non-melanoma skin cancers.

This drug is contraindicated in pregnant women. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 6 months after completing the drug regimen. It is unknown whether Dacsted 500mg Injection is excreted in human milk; breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment. Use with caution in patients with pre-existing liver or kidney dysfunction.

Live vaccines should not be administered to patients receiving Dacsted 500mg Injection, as the drug may suppress immune function and increase susceptibility to serious infection. Do not initiate treatment if white blood cell counts have fallen below specified levels; your doctor will monitor these values at regular intervals. This medicine must not be used in patients with known allergy to dacarbazine.

Blood tests will be performed before each administration to confirm adequate blood cell counts for safe receipt of this medicine. Dacsted 500mg Injection is typically administered once every three to four weeks. Pain along the vein may occur during infusion; inform your nursing staff immediately if pain develops so the infusion site can be assessed. The infusion rate may be reduced or additional fluids administered to manage pain.
