Product Introduction
Dapaglyn LM 500mg Tablet is a combination medicine indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes in adults. It is used to control blood sugar levels when diet, exercise, and monotherapy prove insufficient. This tablet contains three active ingredients that function through distinct mechanisms to reduce blood glucose and lower the risk of diabetes-related complications, including kidney disease and peripheral neuropathy. It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. This medicine should be taken under medical supervision.
Uses
Dapaglyn LM 500mg Tablet is used to: Control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus Reduce the risk of long-term diabetes complications Support weight loss and improve blood pressure in some patients
How it works
This tablet works in three different ways to control blood sugar: Dapagliflozin helps remove excess sugar through urine. Linagliptin increases the release of insulin after meals and lowers sugar made by the liver. Metformin decreases sugar production in the liver and helps the body use insulin better. Together, they help lower both fasting and post-meal sugar levels effectively.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include: Nausea or upset stomach Increased urination Low blood sugar (if combined with other diabetes medicines) Urinary tract or genital infections Tiredness or weakness Serious side effects are rare but may include lactic acidosis or dehydration. Seek medical help if you feel very weak, confused, or have trouble breathing.
Expert Tips
Always take this medicine with food to avoid stomach upset. Check your blood sugar levels regularly and keep a log to share with your doctor. Stay hydrated to avoid dehydration, especially during hot weather or if you’re exercising. Do not stop the medicine without talking to your doctor, even if you feel better. Carry a sugar source (like glucose tablets) in case of low blood sugar episodes.
