How it works

Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. It works by removing excess sugar from your body via your urine and lowering the sugar in your blood. Metformin primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and decreases intestinal absorption of glucose. It works mainly by inhibiting glucose production in the liver.

Avoid excessive alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may increase the risk of side effects. Do not take more tablets than prescribed; an overdose can lead to a serious condition called lactic acidosis.
