Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co-transporter inhibitor, while Metformin is a biguanide. The tablet is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. It is taken orally and must always be used alongside diet and exercise modifications. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine together with other anti-diabetic agents when blood sugar levels remain elevated and inadequately controlled.
Do not take this medicine if you have a known allergy to Dapagliflozin, Metformin, or any other ingredient in the formulation. Avoid this tablet if you have experienced diabetic coma, severely impaired kidney function, severe infection, or liver disease.
Inform your doctor immediately if you develop vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle cramps, severe fatigue, breathing difficulty, reduced body temperature, or palpitations while taking this medicine. Notify your physician if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medicine may increase the risk of UTI. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age.
Your doctor will monitor your kidney function at least once yearly, or more frequently as necessary, during treatment with this medicine. Common side effects include diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, urinary tract infections, and headache.
Uses

How it works
Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and lowers the renal threshold for glucose. It works by removing excess sugar from your body via your urine and lowering the sugar in your blood. Metformin primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and decreases intestinal absorption of glucose. It works mainly by inhibiting glucose production in the liver.
How to Use
It is an orally available prescription drug. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Dapefy M XR 10/1000mg tablet based on the blood sugar and other factors. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time with food. Do not break, chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with water.
