Product Introduction
Dapifin Tablet is an antidiabetic medication belonging to the sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor class, containing dapagliflozin as its active ingredient. It is indicated for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterised by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). The medication is also approved for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults, where it helps alleviate symptoms and reduce hospitalisation risk associated with heart failure. Dapifin Tablet functions primarily to regulate elevated blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes and should always be used alongside dietary modification and physical activity. Your doctor may combine this medicine with other antidiabetic agents if your blood sugar remains elevated and inadequately controlled. Do not use this medication if you have an allergy to dapagliflozin or any other ingredient in the formulation. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medicine may increase their occurrence. This medication is not suitable for patients under 18 years of age. Your physician will monitor kidney function at minimum annually, or more frequently as clinically indicated, during your treatment with this medicine. Should you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or difficulty eating or drinking whilst taking Dapifin Tablet, notify your doctor promptly. These symptoms may lead to dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporarily stopping the medication until recovery is achieved. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) may develop during treatment with this drug, even when blood glucose levels appear normal. If you suspect symptoms of DKA, contact your doctor immediately or proceed to the nearest hospital without delay.
