Product Introduction

Dapmed 10mg Tablet is an antidiabetic medication belonging to the sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor class, containing Dapagliflozin as its active ingredient. It is indicated for type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder marked by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). This medication is also approved for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults, where it helps alleviate symptoms and reduce hospitalisation risk related to heart failure. The primary role of this drug is to manage elevated blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It should always be used alongside dietary modification and exercise. Your doctor may combine this medicine with other antidiabetic agents if your blood sugar remains elevated and inadequately controlled. Do not use this medicine if you have an allergy to Dapmed 10mg Tablet or any component of the formulation. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medication may increase their occurrence. This medicine is not suitable for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function at least annually, or at more frequent intervals, whilst you are taking this medication. If you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or are unable to eat or drink during treatment with Dapmed 10mg Tablet, it is essential to notify your doctor. These conditions may lead to dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporarily stopping the medication until recovery. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) may occur whilst taking this drug, even when blood glucose levels appear normal. Should you suspect symptoms of DKA, contact your doctor or attend the nearest hospital immediately without delay.
