Product Introduction

Dapnat 5mg Tablet is an antidiabetic drug belonging to the sodium-glucose cotransport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor class, containing the active ingredient Dapagliflozin. It is indicated for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients aged 18 years and above. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterised by elevated blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia). This medication is also approved for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) in adults, where it helps ameliorate symptoms and reduce the risk of hospitalisation due to heart failure. The primary action of this drug is to control elevated blood glucose levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. It should always be used alongside diet and exercise modifications. Your doctor may prescribe this medicine in combination with other antidiabetic agents when blood glucose remains elevated and inadequately controlled. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to Dapnat 5mg Tablet or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you develop urinary tract infections, as this medicine may increase their occurrence. This medication is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age. Your doctor will monitor kidney function at baseline and at least annually, or more frequently as clinically indicated, during treatment with this medicine. If you experience nausea, vomiting, fever, or difficulty eating or drinking while taking Dapnat 5mg Tablet, inform your doctor promptly. These conditions may lead to dehydration, and your doctor may recommend temporarily discontinuing the medication until recovery is achieved. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) can occur with this drug even when blood glucose levels appear normal. Should you suspect symptoms of DKA, contact your doctor or proceed to the nearest hospital immediately.
