Darzalex Faspro 1800mg Injection is a targeted therapy for cancer containing the active ingredient daratumumab, which belongs to the group of medicines called monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins that recognise and attach to specific targets, killing cancer cells. It is used to treat multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) in adults aged 18 years or older.

Inform your doctor if you have ever had a hepatitis B infection, as this medicine may cause the hepatitis B virus to become active again. Darzalex Faspro 1800mg Injection can decrease platelet counts (involved in blood clotting) and white blood cell counts (involved in fighting infections). Do not use Darzalex Faspro 1800mg Injection if you are allergic to daratumumab or any other medicine ingredients. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents.

Inform your doctor if you experience any infusion-related reactions, such as swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat. If infusion reactions occur, additional medicine may be required, or the infusion may be slowed or stopped.

Inform your doctor if you are on a salt-controlled diet, as this medicine contains sodium. Tell your doctor if you have a history of breathing problems (asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or have had shingles before taking Darzalex Faspro 1800mg Injection. This medicine can alter blood test results used to determine your blood type. You must inform your healthcare provider that you are being treated with this medicine before receiving blood transfusions.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Use effective contraception during treatment and for three months after treatment.

Treatment of Multiple myeloma

Daratumumab binds specifically to a protein called CD38 found on the surface of multiple myeloma cells. This binding can trigger the immune system to attack and kill the cancer cells.

A trained doctor or nurse should only administer it. Do not self-administer the injection. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of your treatment based on the disease severity and other factors. It will be given as an intravenous infusion, and you will be monitored carefully for unwanted side effects.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. If you experience any symptoms mentioned above, consult your doctor immediately. While undergoing treatment, use effective contraception and continue it for three months after stopping treatment. This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years. Do not freeze the medicine. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor about every underlying medical condition. Talk to your physician if you are on a salt-controlled diet, as this medicine contains sodium.
