Product Introduction
Denotec 120mg Injection contains the active ingredient Denosumab. It is prescribed to treat osteoporosis, a condition characterised by weakened bones. It is also used to prevent bone complications in patients with certain types of cancer, including multiple myeloma and bone metastases. Denosumab 120mg Injection works by inhibiting RANK ligand, which is involved in bone breakdown. Clinical evidence demonstrates that it can substantially increase bone density, reducing fracture risk in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis and patients with cancer-related bone loss. Monitoring of renal function may be required for patients with moderate renal impairment. Denotec 120mg Injection should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to its components. Adequate calcium and vitamin D supplementation is necessary during treatment. It is not approved for use in children and adolescents. Safety and effectiveness in paediatric populations have not been established, making its use contraindicated in individuals under 18 years of age. This medication should be used with caution in individuals with pre-existing hypoparathyroidism, characterised by low parathyroid hormone levels.
Uses
Denotec Injection uses for the treatment of the following conditions: Osteoporosis Bone loss due to hormonal therapy in breast or prostate cancer Multiple myeloma (cancer affects plasma cells in the bone marrow) Bone metastases (cancer that spreads to bone)
How it works
Denotec 120mg Injection has therapeutic effects, including reducing fracture risk, increasing bone mineral density, and improving overall bone health. By inhibiting bone resorption through its action on RANK ligands, this medication helps to strengthen bones and decrease the likelihood of fractures in individuals with osteoporosis or those at high risk. It also increases bone mineral density, an important marker of bone strength. These therapeutic effects improve bone health and reduce the risk of fractures, ultimately enhancing patients' quality of life.
