Product Introduction

Dexlog Injection contains dexmedetomidine, a sedative medication that works by producing a calm, relaxed, or sleep-like state. It is mainly used in adult patients in intensive care units (ICUs) and for conscious sedation during medical, diagnostic, or surgical procedures.

This injection should not be used in individuals who are allergic to dexmedetomidine or any of its components. Before receiving this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any heart-related conditions or if you suffer from severe low blood pressure that does not improve with treatment. It should also be avoided in patients who have recently had a stroke or other serious conditions affecting blood flow to the brain.

Always consult your healthcare provider to determine whether Dexlog Injection is suitable and safe based on your medical history and current health condition.

Uses

For patients in intensive care settings (sedation) For diagnostic or surgical procedures (awake sedation)

How it works

Dexlog Injection acts on alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, inhibits the release of a chemical substance called norepinephrine, and terminates the spread of pain signals in the brain, providing calm and relaxation. When given slowly at lower and moderate doses, it mainly targets one type of alpha1 receptor, providing a soothing effect. However, at higher doses or when given quickly, it can affect both types of alpha1 and alpha2 receptors.

How to Use

Dexlog Injection is given only in a hospital set up by a trained healthcare provider. It will be given to you as an injection into your muscle (intramuscularly) for adults in the arm and children in the thigh. Your doctor will decide your most apt dosage based on age, body weight, and physical circumstances.
