Product Introduction

Dasatinib ML 50mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Dasatinib, a targeted therapy medication. This prescription medicine is indicated for adults and children above one year of age with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.

Dasatinib 50mg is used to treat newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukaemia in the chronic phase and Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in patients resistant to other therapies. Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia is a type of blood cancer characterised by excess production of white blood cells due to alteration in the Philadelphia chromosome. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia is the most common form of blood cancer affecting children, where lymphocytes of white blood cells multiply excessively and persist longer than normal.

Common side effects associated with this medication include diarrhoea, headache, cough, rash, nausea, tiredness, vomiting, muscle pain, weakness, low appetite, and elevated or reduced blood pressure. Fluid retention may also occur as a side effect. Inform your doctor if these side effects cause concern or persist.

Advise your healthcare professional if you are allergic to Dasatinib or its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have liver or heart problems, breathing difficulties, chest pain, cough, hepatitis B infection, or bleeding problems. This medicine may cause severe reduction in the number of platelets, white blood cells, or red blood cells. Ensure your physician monitors your blood levels at regular intervals.

Tell your healthcare professional about all medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, antacids, and herbal supplements. Generic alternatives are available; consult your doctor before switching medications.

This medicine is not recommended for children below one year of age.
