Product Introduction

Duovir Tablet is a combination medicine containing Lamivudine and Zidovudine. It is used to treat HIV-1 infection in conjunction with other medicines. The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) targets and destroys immune system cells; consequently, the body's capacity to fight infections decreases and, in severe cases, may result in death. Patients with neutropenia (low white blood cell count) or anaemia (low red blood cell count) should not use zidovudine or lamivudine. If you have any liver disease, including hepatitis B or C, kidney disease, or are overweight, inform your doctor. Fat loss in the face, arms, and legs is a common side effect of this medication; treatment should be discontinued if these symptoms occur. Do not allow anyone else to use your toothbrush or other personal items, such as your razor. Discuss appropriate sexual practices with your doctor. The kidneys are the primary organs through which Duovir Tablet is eliminated from the body. If you have reduced kidney function, your healthcare provider may adjust your dosage to prevent potential side effects. Regular monitoring of kidney function during treatment is important. This medication may be prescribed to children with HIV, but the dosages and formulations may vary.
