Product Introduction
Duphaston 10mg Tablet contains the active component dydrogesterone. It is used to regulate irregular menstrual cycles and can treat conditions including dysfunctional uterine bleeding, premenstrual syndrome, and secondary amenorrhea. Duphaston is used as hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women, particularly when estrogen therapy alone is contraindicated. It is combined with other medications in assisted reproductive techniques, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), to support embryo implantation. In some cases of threatened miscarriage, it may be prescribed to help maintain the pregnancy.
Patients with known hypersensitivity or allergy to dydrogesterone or to any component of Duphaston 10mg Tablet should not use this medication. It should be avoided in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or cerebrovascular accidents. Patients with severe liver impairment should not use this medication, as it may worsen the condition. If a woman is experiencing undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, the cause of which has not been determined, Duphaston 10mg Tablet should not be used until the cause of the bleeding is established. It should not be used in patients with known or suspected oestrogen-dependent tumours, such as certain breast or uterine cancer types, Dubin-Johnson syndrome, or Rotor syndrome.
It can be used in elderly patients; however, caution should be exercised, especially in those with medical conditions such as liver impairment or a history of thromboembolic disorders. It is typically not indicated for use in children and adolescents.
