Product Introduction

Dytor Plus 10mg Tablet contains spironolactone and torasemide, which are an aldosterone receptor antagonist and a loop diuretic respectively. These medications are used primarily in the management of heart failure and hypertension. Dytor Plus 10mg Tablet is also indicated for hypokalemia and for reduction of oedema.

This medication should be taken as directed by your doctor. It is preferable to take it in the morning to minimise nocturia. The tablet should be taken with food at the same time each day. Do not discontinue this medication upon symptom improvement, as doing so may worsen your condition. If you are taking this medication for hypertension alongside other medications, adhere to lifestyle modifications including regular exercise and a low-sodium diet to optimise therapeutic benefit. Alcohol consumption should be avoided as it may potentiate side effects.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and oedema. Breast tenderness occurs in both men and women.

Before commencing this medication, inform your doctor of any chronic kidney, cardiac, or hepatic disease. Disclose all concurrent medications. Notify your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, as this medication may cause harm and congenital abnormalities in the developing foetus. Blood pressure and serum potassium levels require regular monitoring. Renal function tests should be monitored whilst taking this medication.

How it works

This drug works by blocking the action of aldosterone, a hormone that regulates salt and water balance in the body. By blocking aldosterone, spironolactone reduces the amount of sodium and water reabsorbed by the kidneys, which helps to decrease fluid retention and lower blood pressure. The other drug works by increasing the excretion of water and electrolytes from the kidneys, which helps to reduce excess fluid buildup in the body.

How to Use

This medication is taken as per the advice of the doctor. It can be taken in the morning in order to avoid frequent urination during night times. Take Dytor plus 10 mg tablet at the same time every day. Avoid breaking or chewing the tablet. Instead, swallow it whole with a glass of water.
