Product Introduction

Efftreo 2gm Injection contains Aztreonam as its active ingredient, a monobactam antibiotic used to treat a wide range of serious bacterial infections. Aztreonam was originally derived from Chromobacterium violaceum and is structurally different from other beta-lactam antibiotics because it contains a unique monocyclic beta-lactam ring. This distinct structure helps it target susceptible bacteria effectively. The injection also contains L-arginine as an inactive ingredient to support the formulation.

Efftreo 2gm Injection uses include the treatment of severe bacterial infections affecting the lungs, urinary tract, bloodstream, skin, abdomen, and other parts of the body caused by susceptible bacteria. However, it is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

Do not use Efftreo 2gm Injection if you are allergic to Aztreonam or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your healthcare provider if you have liver disease, kidney impairment, blood disorders (such as pancytopenia), skin conditions, a positive Coombs' (antiglobulin) test, or a history of seizures (fits). These conditions may require close monitoring or dosage adjustments.

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before receiving this injection. Also inform your healthcare provider if you have experienced antibiotic-associated diarrhea or have a history of stomach or intestinal disorders. If you develop severe, persistent, or bloody diarrhea during treatment with Efftreo 2gm Injection, seek medical attention immediately, as the medicine may need to be discontinued.

Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking, especially other antibiotics or anticoagulants (blood thinners), as they may interact with Efftreo 2gm Injection. Contact your doctor promptly if you experience symptoms of encephalopathy, such as confusion, drowsiness, altered consciousness, or unusual changes in mental status, particularly if you have impaired kidney function.

When used as prescribed, Efftreo 2gm Injection provides effective treatment for serious bacterial infections while helping reduce the risk of complications. Always complete the full course of treatment to achieve the best results and help prevent antibiotic resistance.
