Emeset MD 4mg Tablet

Emeset MD 4mg tablet contains ondansetron, an anti-emetic belonging to the class of selective 5-HT3 antagonists. It is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ondansetron or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not take Emeset MD 4mg tablet if you have had any allergic reaction to other anti-emetics or if you are taking apomorphine, a medicine used to treat Parkinson's disease.

Inform your doctor if you have any blockage in your gut or suffer from severe constipation, or if you are due for surgery on the adenoids or tonsils. Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, liver problems, Parkinson's disease, or any problems with blood salt levels, including potassium, magnesium, and sodium.

Do not take Emeset MD 4mg tablet if you are pregnant, as this medicine can cause severe birth defects. Inform your doctor or other healthcare professionals if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during treatment.

The most common side effects of this medicine are headache, general weakness or tiredness, constipation, and diarrhoea.

Treats nausea and vomiting

Emeset MD 4mg tablet may work by blocking 5-HT3 receptors peripherally on vagal nerve terminals and centrally in the chemoreceptor trigger zone. It works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance that may cause nausea and vomiting.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease condition, severity, and other factors. Take the tablets as prescribed by your doctor. Do not break, crush, or chew the tablets. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is important to take your medicine at the same time every day.

If you forgot to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Inform your physician immediately if you face any allergic reactions such as sudden wheezing and chest pain or tightness, swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, mouth, tongue, difficulty breathing, skin rashes, or temporary loss of vision after receiving this medicine. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to. Your doctor will regularly do lab tests to check the effectiveness of the medicine.
