Conditions: Antifungal

Product Introduction

Emluz Cream 20gm contains luliconazole, an azole antifungal medication used to treat fungal infections of the skin, including athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis). Athlete's foot is a fungal infection affecting the feet, particularly the spaces between the toes, and can cause itching, redness, cracking, and peeling of the skin. Jock itch is a fungal infection of the groin and inner thighs. Ringworm, despite its name, is not caused by a worm but by a fungal infection that can affect various body parts, causing circular or ring-shaped rashes with raised edges and a clear centre.

Do not use Emluz Cream 20gm if you have hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any other ingredients in the product. The cream should not be applied to open wounds, cuts, or areas of broken skin. Avoid application to the eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes. Patients with compromised immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS or undergoing immunosuppressive therapy, may have an increased risk of fungal infections. Use of Emluz Cream 20gm in these situations requires careful monitoring by a healthcare provider. The cream may not be approved for use in children under a certain age or weight; healthcare provider guidance should always be followed when considering use in children. Before using this medication in older age, consult a healthcare provider.

How it works

Emluz Cream works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption weakens the cell membrane, leading to the death of the fungus and ultimately resolving the infection.

Side Effects

Emluz Cream 20gm causes some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them. Serious Severe skin irritation or allergic reaction Worsening skin infection Common Mild skin irritation Dry skin Peeling or flaking skin
