Product Introduction
Emtreo 5gm injection contains the active substance Treosulfan, an anti-neoplastic medication belonging to the class of alkylating agents. When combined with Fludarabine, this medicine is used to treat allogeneic hemopoietic stem cell transplant (alloHSCT) in adults with malignant and non-malignant conditions. In paediatric patients older than one month, it is indicated for malignant conditions.
Do not use Emtreo 5gm injection if you are allergic to Treosulfan or any other ingredients in the formulation. Inform your doctor if you have any active infections or pre-existing disorders affecting the heart, lungs, liver, or kidneys. Before beginning treatment, tell your doctor if you have recently received any live vaccine, have Fanconi anemia (an inherited bone marrow failure syndrome), or other DNA repair disorders.
This medicine may cause myelosuppression (reduction in blood cell counts). Your doctor will monitor your blood counts and liver enzyme levels regularly to assess organ function until recovery of the hematopoietic system.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Use effective contraception during treatment and for six months after the last dose. Treosulfan may impair fertility; patients advised not to father a child should use contraception during treatment and for up to 6 months after completion.
In paediatric patients, nappy dermatitis (inflammation of skin in the nappy area) may occur. Nappies should be changed frequently over a 6–8 hour period. Contact your doctor for further information.
