Product Introduction

Entavir 1mg tablet is an antiviral medication belonging to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) class. It contains entecavir and is indicated for treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, defined as persistent viraemia when the immune system has not cleared the virus from the liver within six months of initial infection.

Before initiating therapy, inform your doctor of any existing skin conditions, history of anaemia, seizures, or hepatic or renal disease. Regular blood tests are necessary to monitor blood cell counts and liver function during treatment, enabling your healthcare provider to assess therapeutic response and identify potential adverse effects or complications early.

Alcohol consumption must be avoided entirely, as it may increase hepatic damage risk. This medication may cause lactic acidosis—excess lactic acid in the blood—a rare but severe adverse effect, particularly in obese women. If nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain develops during treatment, contact your physician immediately.

Entavir 1mg tablet should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically directed by your doctor. Effective contraceptive methods are recommended to prevent pregnancy during therapy. Breastfeeding should be avoided as it is unknown whether this drug enters breast milk.

Do not take this tablet if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine.

For individuals with concurrent HIV infection, precautions must be taken to prevent viral transmission. These include avoiding unprotected sexual contact and sharing personal items such as razors or toothbrushes. Condoms and other safe practices reduce HIV transmission risk during sexual activity. Discuss appropriate prevention measures with your doctor.
